Art as Social Practice

Art as Social Practice - A critical investigation of works by Kenneth A. Balfelt looks at a number of collaborative art projects in and outside Denmark by artist Kenneth A. Balfelt. It contains both introductions to five projects, interviews with the people involved in the projects and finally four essays trying to reflect on the impact of these kinds of artworks.

The book is designed as an owner’s manual with thick cardbord covers and a sturdy metal spiral binding. To amplify the feeling of a hand book, the book is typeset in Helvetica Textbook with generous leading and every picture and footnote is placed exactly where it is mentioned in the text. For easy navigation, each project is introduced with a fact sheet in a different colour and and all text about the project is printed in that colour.
