With the retrospective exhibition Take My Breath Away SMK displayed the most comprehensive overview of Danh Vo’s on Danish soil so far filling most of the ground floor of the museum and café.
The curators wanted an exhibition design that was completely paired back to give room to Vo’s complex artistic storytelling. A few monochrome introduction banners and vinyl numbers at each artwork was the exhibition design.
All information about the works on show was gathered in the exhibition guide. To go with the industrial, ready-made look of the exhibition design, the exhibition guide followed a simple layout with large number markers for easy navigation. The booklet was printed in two languages on rotation presses usually used for newspapers and with coarse black and white imagery.
