Should I / Should I Not
Initiated and edited by the think tank a/nordi/c, the anthology Should I / Should I Not (Danish title: Skal / Skal ikke) explores artistic freedom through a wide variety of texts. It contains 23 essays and like a kaleidoscope, the anthology illuminates different ways of looking at the subject.
The think tank wanted a book that looked as engaging as the texts inside and a design that reflected the dilemma of the subject matter: When to use your artistic freedom and when not to.
Throughout the book, the “/” from the title is used a graphic devise to both cross over and highlight the texts and as a half-tone pattern to render the images of the book. With its painted edges, the book object itself becomes a /.
The design follows a/nordi/c’s visual identity, I developed in 2021. Printed in Black and Pantone 814U. Painted edges and matching binding thread.
